I’m Emil — a filmmaker and photographer based in Copenhagen, and the person behind Bilde Production.
I’ve always liked making things. Working with cameras, taking pictures and making films, and getting out into the field. There’s something about taking an idea and slowly turning it into something real that I really enjoy.
My background is in Film & TV production, and I spent six years working in advertising before starting Bilde Production in 2021. Along the way, I worked as a 1st AC, Cinematographer, Editor and Colorgrader, gradually taking more and more of the process into my own hands.
Today, I shoot, edit, grade and finish a lot of my own work. I like being involved in the different stages of a project — from figuring out an idea to being out there making it happen, and finally putting the last pieces together in the edit.
I spend a lot of my own time in nature — fishing, hiking, hunting, travelling, cooking outside or simply being outside somewhere without much else going on. That has had a pretty big influence on the way I work and the stories I’m drawn to. A lot of my work naturally ends up outside, often around nature, outdoor life, tourism and the people who spend their time there.
I like films and photos that feel real. The little details, the weather, the people, the places and the moments that make something real. I’m not particularly interested in making things look more polished than they actually are. I’d rather make something honest, well-made and worth spending time with.
That’s also what I try to bring to the people and brands I work with.
It can be a campaign, a film, a series of photographs or a piece of content from somewhere far from the office. Sometimes there’s a clear brief. Sometimes there’s just a good idea that needs to be figured out.
Whatever the project is, I like keeping things straightforward: good people, good ideas, good images — and doing the work properly.
Bilde Production is my small production setup in Copenhagen. It’s where I edit, grade and build things from. More than anything, it gives me the freedom to work closely with the people I collaborate with and choose projects that I genuinely find interesting.
And whenever possible, I’d rather be outside than behind a desk.
Got an idea or a project you’d like to talk about? Let’s grab a coffee and have a chat. I’m always up for something new.
